Hi,

We are planning to build an extension to our house. The existing house was built in the 1940s and has load-bearing exterior walls made of plank that are additionally insulated.

I was considering building the extension with framed exterior walls until today when an acquaintance suggested it would be cheaper/easier to build the walls with leca blocks and insulate with 10cm of styrofoam on the inside.

I have no idea if this is a good or bad suggestion and could use some help and advice here.

Best regards, Tobbe G

Normally, one does not mix construction solutions for the same property. Wooden garages go better with wooden houses, etc...

Additionally, it does not become cheaper.
