You can find cheap marble pieces on Blocket, how easy is it to cut a piece to a size that suits you?
There are no major problems with the right tools. Marble is quite soft and easy to work with. If you have an angle grinder with a tile or similar disc, it easily cuts through a marble slab.Torpar-Anna said:
Thank you for your responses!
When cutting the board as you suggested, will the cut be "smooth" like pre-cut edges, or does the cut need additional finishing?

With?
Excuse an ignorant question...

The cut won't be "smooth" like the rest of the board. I assume you mean the board has been sanded/polished before. The new cut will be matte. It should be possible to polish this up with wet sandpaper in various grits if you're willing.Torpar-Anna said:
How much material do you need? It's likely much easier and not very expensive to order this new.
