Hejba...

I have installed a semi-circular window (75x150 cm) and now I just need trim and external reveal! I first thought of ordering, but almost fell off my chair when just the trim was going to cost up to 4000 SEK...

So, now I'm thinking of trying to craft one myself but I'm not quite sure how to go about it, and tips are gratefully received!

Note! I preferably want to use "real" wood, i.e., not build from plywood or other materials that would make the trim differ from the rest of the facade (spruce panel) and other trims (28x145).

Best regards, /Peter

Hello!

You should try to find as wide a panel as you can in 28 thickness and then try to saw the radius out of it.
There will be many short (half-moon) stumps to nail/screw up.
What type of paint will you use?
If there are too many stumps, I would switch to plyfa.
Like a 12 and 16 and saw out the radius and then glue them together to the right thickness.

I have made a round liner (1m window) out of plywood. Initially, I was very hesitant to use plywood because it looks a bit different from the rest. With the liner in place, I can conclude that you don't really notice that the surface is a bit smoother.

Better a perfectly round liner that is smooth than one with the right texture that looks a bit shabby...

Hello!

We will also use plyfa that is just as thick (and cut to the same width) as the other window trims for our round window. I don't think it will be that noticeable that it isn't "hairy" like the others. You might be able to roll it a bit with some type of putty before painting it if you want to get a slightly uneven texture on it as well.

Best,
