When calculating exterior panels, you hear both running meters and m2. How many m2 is a running meter???

Well, it depends on what kind of panel you need. Check resources like träguiden or similar, where you can find conversion tables.

Square meters are counted, and that's how it is

They are two different things and cannot be converted from one to the other.
Linear meter = the length of the wall in meters
m2 = the area of the wall

Well ...you can translate them actually.. running meter can be panel as well.. I mean 1 square meter tongue and groove board is approximately 10.5 running meters of tongue and groove board... but in calculations and orders, you use square meters...

so there are indeed tables.

Here's how you calculate it yourself:

1 running meter = (1xwidth) m2
1 m2 = 1/width running meter

Example:

You are installing paneling, and the boards are, for example, 145 mm wide (excluding tongue). First, convert the width to meters = 0.145

1 m2 panel = 1/0.145 = 6.89655... running meters
1 running meter = 0.145x1 = 0.145 m2

Am I calculating correctly if I need 170 m2 of paneling, the width of the panel is 137 mm and it costs 43 kr/meter.

Is it correct that the price will be 53,357 kr

Hmmm, well, the calculation is probably right, but 43 kr/lpm !!!

I hope you mean 43 kr/m[sup]2[/sup] otherwise it will be expensive :-/

Then the price becomes a bit more reasonable 170*43=7310

Tips
If you want to avoid a lot of waste, you should not calculate the panel in m2, but instead calculate how many boards you need and how long they should be. You don't want to splice the panel.
