Hello! We are going to replaster a wall in the living room that currently has tretex (soft board). From experience with previous rooms, we know it is difficult to get it to stick because the drywall screw is almost too short to go in properly into the wood wall behind.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are longer drywall screws available somewhere. I haven't seen them in regular hardware stores.

Common drywall screws for wood are available in 30, 41, and 55 millimeters. Perhaps there are more lengths, but those are the ones I have seen.

Ah. That was good. Where then? I usually shop at byggmax hence the lack of options. They don't have the largest selection..

A slightly more well-stocked building supply store surely has it. I mostly shop at Fredells in Stockholm, and they do.

They can hardly have such a poor selection that they don't have drywall screws for double gypsum??

But then they are more suitable for wood..

Byggmax

Well, that's great then! I must not have used my eyes properly while shopping.. =) Lucky there are those who keep track!

Yes, well, wood is indeed better in a wooden wall. There's some truth to that :)

Yep. :)
