I need some advice and tips when I'm building a loft bed for a 120cm wide bed for my 5-year-old son. I'm sending a few incredibly artistic pictures

so it's easier to see

I was thinking of mounting it on the wall and then building a frame with 45x45mm beams (about 30cc between them) and then using a leg made of a 90x90mm beam. Put up MDF as a rim around it. The height underneath the bed will probably end up at 160-170cm with a desk underneath (250cm total ceiling height). Should this hold and work? Is there anything missing or anything else I should consider?
The other thing I'm very unsure about is the staircase I was planning to build on the short side, which should serve as both stairs to the bed and a bookshelf or toy shelf. I don't really know what or how thick material I need to use for it to hold? I guess 18mm laminated wood is too thin if you want to go up there yourself sometimes?
Then I'm thinking about the step height... with a bit of simple math, I realize I need almost 1.5cm height per 1cm depth on the steps. This feels very wrong somehow. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to go about this... for example, step height/depth or the number of steps I need or any other good tips?
