Load calculation for HEA beam 120mm
I am going to build a balcony and need to ensure that a HEA 120mm can handle the loads. The span between the supports (posts 100x100mm or 170x170mm) is estimated to be about 3m or 4m. So what will be the deflection of the beam if it is loaded with 800kg in the middle of 4m?
What do you consider to be the max span of this beam for the purpose of a balcony on a villa (my beam length is 6m)?
The other end of the balcony is attached to the house facade, and in between, there will be joists with cc 600mm.
Best regards, Rickard
