How do you know if a wall is load-bearing?

On the first floor, it's pretty logical that the large wall running along the house is.
On the upper floor, I wasn't quite sure. We have a room with a closet/cupboard along the slanted ceiling. In this closet, I was thinking of building a sleeping nook for the boy.
The wall here is not thick, it's very thin, and I didn't think it might be load-bearing. But someone thought it might be. But how on earth are you supposed to know? Will the sleeping nook just remain a dream?

Probably not a load-bearing wall. Saw it down and see. If there is tension against the saw blade, then it is load-bearing. Then you'll need to insert some type of beam to distribute the weight. Since you're on the upper floor, you don't have any major weights.

OK, thanks for the help.
