I am going to take down a wall in my condominium. I have obtained the drawings, but I cannot determine if the wall is load-bearing or not. How can you tell? It feels like a regular "inner wall" with drywall.

  • Floor plan showing two bedrooms, each labeled "SOVR 10.4 M2." A red arrow points to a wall between them, possibly indicating a wall to be removed.

That's just a floor plan, but to determine if a wall is load-bearing, you need a section drawing, reinforcement drawing, and similar information, as well as knowing when the house was built.

Even stud frames covered with gypsum can be load-bearing.

Yes, I'll have to keep hunting for blueprints...

Should be available at the municipality's building permit department if the BRF board doesn't have any.
