Hello!

We have a Mockfjärd house from '63 and now we're planning to take down some walls and build a large bathroom. But the wall that logically should be the load-bearing one seems to be made of plasterboard and a bit more.. We don't have any blueprints of the house (and the municipal archives have burned down..) but we're going to play it safe and support the ceiling before we take down the wall.

I wanted to hear if anyone has experience with this type of house (1 1/2-story villa on a slab from Mockfjärd) regarding the walls. Do these houses exist without load-bearing walls? Maybe someone out there even has a blueprint lying around somewhere...? Thanks in advance!

Partition walls are about 10 cm thick, load-bearing walls should be at least 20 cm and in your house, the load-bearing wall should be lengthwise.
To be sure, you should contact a structural engineer who can give you definitive answers. If you make changes and accidentally cause damage because you have weakened the house's structure, you will have problems with the insurance.
