I have a small question about whether all the exterior walls in a log house are load-bearing?
The previous owner made an addition on one side that we want to open up to (about 50% of the wall).
The wall we want to open is on the short side of the house (gable side). We will keep about 40 cm of the wall on one side and about 4 meters on the other side (the opening will be about 330 cm).
We have had 2 carpenters out to look at it and both say that it shouldn't be a problem, but it still feels a bit uncertain.
Has anyone here perhaps done this before?
