We are applying for a building permit to install a patio door (140cm) on the red-marked wall. Our neighbor has done exactly the same thing on exactly the same type of house, but it was so long ago that she doesn't remember if it was load-bearing or not. And I don't know how to read this drawing. Is the red-marked wall load-bearing or not? And if it is load-bearing, could I possibly get help with calculations, etc. that I can send to the municipality? :D

  • Architectural blueprint with highlighted wall in red, showing a structural layout for a house. Inquiry about whether the wall is load-bearing.
  • Architectural drawing of a house section with marked wall for a new door. Text notes and measurements are visible around the house structure.
It is probably not load-bearing.
Isn't it a house that is built the "wrong" way? That is, with the long side as the gable.

Yes, exactly a "felvänt" house like that :D

I don't think it's load-bearing either, but I want to be on the safe side. :)

From the drawings, the floor plan of the upper floor and the sectional drawing, it is evident that the trusses are oriented the "wrong" way, and therefore the outer wall in question is not load-bearing. The section also specifies which interior walls are load-bearing.

Thank you :)
