I have a small question regarding this issue.. I am planning to open up a hole of size 160x100 cm in a 70 mm thick lightweight concrete wall between the kitchen and the living room.. I'm mostly a bit curious about lightweight concrete.. I know for sure that it contains some sort of vertical thin reinforcement with about 20 cm spacing, and it is definitely non-load-bearing.. I will clad the insides like a door frame later.. the question is: does lightweight concrete hold for such an opening, or does it require some form of support in addition to the frame-like surround?
Best regards /// Johan
