Hello
I have a summer cottage, about 60m2 on a pillar foundation. Built in the 60s. One corner has sunk a few centimeters in recent years, so I want to lift and wedge on top of the pillar. The problem is that this corner is on about 1.5m pillars, so getting a jack in is a bit tricky (what should it stand on). Would it work to screw up with regular props? Or do you have other ideas?

Probably not. Build something up (concrete slabs, logs etc) so the jack can lift and then place props to secure it.

Place the jack firmly on the ground, and then use a lever or clamp on it. Normal clamps aren't really meant for lifting, are they? But maybe it might work too.

Yes, but 1.5m is quite high. Hard to prop up that much. A "stick" on the jack feels quite wobbly, might work on a garage jack. If I could easily get a jack on a steady surface, it wouldn't be a problem.

I have raised my upper floor a bit when I renovated a rotten wall. It works.

Jack and rule work great, you just lift a few centimeters at a time, and then support with a suitable object.

Ok, then I'll try it. Thanks for the info.

I lifted one end of our barn as the foundation had eroded, and the pressure on the wall caused it to completely fall off the foundation. Lifted it about 15 cm. Used 20-ton jacks from Biltema and used an old flagpole as a prop.
