Hello
I have a room in the basement that I’m going to convert into a workshop. The problem is that there is a drain that the previous owner has poured casting into. This isn’t needed, but there is a pretty steep slope around the drain. What is the best way to make the floor level? Self-leveling compound would work, but then I would have to level the entire floor and it would require a significant amount. Any good tips? Grateful for a reply

You don't need to plaster the entire floor; you can plaster locally but don't forget to use primer first and then you can advantageously sand the edges to make the new plaster blend with the old floor.
