In the USA, a fairly common construction technique seems to be building with "cinderblocks"... With vertical rebar and then pouring in the blocks. See video here for example:

How come the equivalent isn't found in Sweden? Feels like a pretty simple way for an amateur to make 'solid' walls?

Can anyone provide some sensible insight into why this is 'bad' (at least in Swedish climate)?

There are shell blocks primarily used for walls. Finja and bereder have them, there are surely more.

We are more interested in insulation than the Americans, and have calmer weather and no earthquakes. Therefore, lecablock often work better.
