Hello,

I was thinking of using a layer of leca as a raised base on my slab for an attefallshus. I poured the slab without edge beams and would like to raise it a bit from the ground.

The idea was 15cm wide leca.
Do you have any smart input on reinforcement? Is it needed? Both vertically down into the slab and/or horizontally?

Better safe than sorry - reinforce.

I didn't reinforce the round I have on top of the garage foundation. Stands stable. (y)

Yes, I actually agree. But I thought it would be easier to use smooth blocks, without grooves, if you don't need to reinforce. Seems like many don't reinforce just one layer...

No cracks in the joints or anything like that? Did you just use mortar between the slab and leca or did you attach it with some reinforcement?

No reinforcement at all, no cracks.
Plastered the outside.
