This concerns a brick house built in 1963 on a slab foundation. The pipes to an original outdoor faucet have been leaking in the wall of a laundry room. But we don't think it leaked excessively. The outdoor faucet has now been replaced and the leakage stopped. But work remains:

1. What type of mortar is used to fill a round hole about 5 cm in the brick facade after the old faucet? It is red brick with gray mortar and the hole seems mostly in the mortar.

2. The wall in the laundry room is built with asbestos cement boards, inside are wooden studs with insulation.

If we take down the asbestos cement boards to be able to see the extent of the leak, what is suitable to replace them with in a laundry room? Is it drywall or another type of board?

Is there usually any material between the brick and the insulation in brick houses from 1963?
