I have attempted to read through most of the information on Finja's website regarding plaster. They mention using "ordinary" plaster, referred to as plaster mortar A, B, or C. It also states that KC is used where it was previously plastered with KC mortar. How do I know that?? I just want to smoothen it out to achieve a smooth surface instead of the rough one it has now. Which type of plaster is most suitable? The walls are in the basement and it will become a bathroom, but there will be no moisture barrier on these walls as it's far from the shower.

Regular C mortar works well. B also works, but keep in mind that the stone size in that mortar is about 3mm. So if you're going to plaster thinly, use C mortar. Also, keep in mind that the walls will not be ready for coating until about 1 month at room temperature.

Alternatively, you can always use wet room filler if there are no thick layers you need to smooth out.

Call Finja and ask to speak with Magnus Rosenberg. I did that myself recently regarding my plastered bathroom walls and received excellent service!

Thanks for that. I'll be buying a few bags of plaster c tomorrow then. It doesn't matter that it takes a month before it gets any coating. That gives a bit of breathing room to figure out what kind of coating to have. ;D ;D

Maxit 135 (Putsbruk C hand)
Very smooth and easy mortar to work with.
Easy to achieve a fine-grained surface.
