How do you easily cut concrete blocks to get a neat cut surface? (With limited equipment, I should add.)

Handsaw, hacksaw, or something else? How badly would a saw wear out if you try it?

A regular saw is usually done before you're all the way through, but there are saws that are specifically designed for exactly what you intend to do.

I have two blocks that need to be split in half.

Purchased for a total of 60 SEK. Can't really spend a fortune on the cutting...

An old handsaw to gnaw with is the last tip I believe

A hand saw at a flea market for 10 SEK or the nearest jula, biltema... Max 50 SEK for a saw, it’s good enough to split two lecablock, split not cut.

A regular hand saw works perfectly, it cuts through the first block well, quite dull but works for at least ten blocks, it just takes longer.

Don't you have a roundabout? Buy a cheap cutting disc for Sten and it will be fine

I usually use a loose axe head and a hammer. You hold the axe head against the block and tap it with the hammer. That way, you make a marking all around. Then you hit harder so that the block splits apart. Not as tiring as with a handsaw and the tools don't get worn out beyond repair after two cuts.

That's probably the simplest suggestion so far, the question is how good of a cut the original poster wants, otherwise it's a +1 to you from me, bye, bye...

Hmm, maybe it's time for me to go to bed.

Buy a lightweight concrete saw. Costs a couple of hundred, gives a straight and nice cut, and doesn't need to be discarded afterwards.

I am going to the concrete industry on Monday to have them cut professionally.

Cut with a diamond blade and then use a reciprocating saw with lecablad, especially if you have harder leca 5MPa and above. Otherwise, the ax works well according to previous posts.

Why ask then?

I bought the lecablock on January 4, 2018, and also started the thread because I wondered how I could cut the lecablock neatly, easily, and cheaply.

The day after, I contacted my relative and asked if I could stop by the concrete factory and get it done. He said yes, and I then wrote the post about going to the concrete industry, so no one would need to engage more in the thread.

The concrete factory was large, dark, and quite dirty. Cutting lecablock neatly was not a problem for a professional with professional equipment. Furthermore, it was both free and easy for me.

Then I spray-painted the lecablock and wrapped them in rubber mesh (non-slip). The best and cheapest speaker stands.
