What is the inside and outside of this room/vault and what was the purpose of building it like that? Was it for storing valuables or is it a shelter or?

Old bank vault. will become a pantry and we will keep the bank vault door.

If I understand the original poster correctly, what he has done is create a new doorway to the vault. That is, he is not dependent on the vault door, it essentially forms part of the walls around the vault.

We have keys to the Valvet. it is an old bank from the 80s built for Swebank.

The vault door is incredibly heavy, so very cumbersome to close. Also, it's very nice to keep it from the old bank days in the property.
