Bought anchor adhesive at Jula the other day "Hard Head 2K-FIX". It was newly arrived so I can't find it on their website. Anyway, it says on the tube that it is for brick, concrete, and light concrete. Maybe a dumb question, but I assume it also works for rock outdoors?
I'm also a bit confused about prices. 300ml cost 99kr at Jula. Biltema sells 280ml for 190kr and Byggmax has 300ml for 250kr. Is there a big difference between different brands?
I'm going to place a couple of 12mm rebar in rock only, which anchor adhesive is recommended?
there is a difference, yes.
I worked in the Norrtull tunnels for a while and drilled about 3000 25x700mm holes where we glued anchor bars in the ceilings.
We used Hilti's compound since it met the requirements for erosion and salts, etc.
In your case, it must withstand a certain cold. And it needs to be adapted for that.
I strongly doubt that this one does. They are more expensive.
Go to a Hilti store and buy there. It's cheaper to do it right, than to redo it.
Planning to build a deck on it, so it would be a bit tricky to change it later. If there can be a big difference in quality, I'd rather change it sooner than later.
Also, once upon a time, I vowed to stop buying the cheapest when it comes to materials and gadgets since too many times I've been burned when I've bought cheap bad stuff that I've had to replace fourteen times instead of one more expensive one, and unfortunately, it often turns out to be more expensive to buy cheap in the long run - my experience anyway.
In this case, I searched for anchor grout both at Hornbach and Bauhaus before but couldn't find it, and the help I received to locate it was a joke, so I gave up there and went with the first available grout at Jula.
I see three possible solutions.
1. Since it is something that should stand on the iron, i.e., pressing it downwards (if I'm guessing right), it's mostly about just stabilizing the brace until everything is built and finished. As long as the iron goes down to the bottom and can't sink any further, continue with the material you have. It should just fill the hole so the iron doesn't wobble around. You can actually use regular simple concrete in a bag. When everything is finished and cured, no one will be able to move it anyway.
2. If it's going to be subjected to tensile forces where it could simply come loose, causing what you've screwed it into to move, switch to Hilti's material. Then rent an anchor mass gun at Ramirent or Hyreslandslaget.
3. Buy at Beijer, anchor mass.
