Hello!

I have found cut tracks in the metal parts on the roof. Some have gone straight through while others are just tracks. Now to my question, is it sealant or some sort of adhesive that is best to use in this case? It needs to be something that withstands water and all kinds of weather.

Since the metal is white, it would preferably also be white in color.

I found this product for example. https://www.bauhaus.se/montagelim-pl400-perfekt-vit-300ml#go-to-description

P.S. I would have liked to replace the metal, but it is under the paneling.

I'll see if I can take one tomorrow when it's light, but imagine someone has used an angle grinder on sheet metal. The grooves are probably 2-4 mm.

Plastic Pudding chemical metal I would probably see if it could be used.

Thought about PP, but it's quite a large area (read: long) and also in an edge/corner. Would prefer something more manageable.

Thought you were more inclined towards black sheet metal and red lead...

Volvo ;):crysmile::crysmile:
oh what me and my friends repaired large areas with PP and fiberglass fabric when we were 18-20.
But you are right that if you are inexperienced, the result is not always what you wish for.

Isn't it more likely that TS has 0.7mm?

you are thinking 2-4mm deep I guess
we others probably thought 2-4mm wide
TS gets to sort this out

TS needs to clarify
Hehe. Perspective and realization;)

Haha! Now it seems I've stepped on some toes. It's a metal detail on the garage roof meant to prevent moisture from seeping in. I call it sheet metal, but perhaps that's not the correct term. Anyway, I didn't mean the metal is 2-4 mm deep; what I was referring to was the width of the groove.

Any ideas on what could be used to seal it? Is something soft like a construction joint compound better, or something that hardens?

Hehe. Is it visible from you you see it on the property?

No, it's not visible from the ground. Function is number 1. But if it's possible to find something that blends in, I would of course prefer that.
