Is a smooth concrete slab in front of the garage a bad idea?

Hello,
I am thinking about casting a slab in front of the garage so the kids have somewhere to ride a skateboard/kickbike (only gravel roads otherwise) and therefore want it to be quite smooth. Is it a bad idea when living in Västerbotten with a fairly harsh winter? Will it become an ice rink?

Without discriminating against anyone, my firm belief is that those who live in Västerbotten have such good experience with winters that this is resolved automatically. If you can handle all the other roads and parking lots during the winter, you can surely manage the last few meters in front of the garage too.😁

Those who want to skateboard/kickbike/inline will probably want the winter gravel swept away before the season starts. But they can probably handle that themselves as a warm-up for the spring premiere. 😁
