Continuing to plan my build, a vacation home in Härjedalen made of timber. I will use timber without covering it with any external paneling and would actually like to have timber walls inside as well, but someone gave me a u-value of 0.88 for a 15 cm timber wall and with 100mm insulation a u-value of 0.25, so I wonder:
What is the best way to insulate a timber wall?
Material (mineral wool versus wood wool)?
Dimensions?
Construction, i.e., what would the different layers of the wall look like?
Or is it best not to insulate at all!
