Hello

When installing drain pipes, you need to make holes in the floor joists.

Now I'm wondering if it's just as okay to do that for ventilation ducts? And I'm also wondering if it's okay to make two holes in the same joist, one for drainage and one for ventilation?

Thanks :-)

It's a K-question, not my expertise but how big are the holes and what is the dimension of the studs you're going to make holes in? How many studs are you going to make holes in?

As a rule, the holes will be about 1000. Don't know the dimensions of the rule yet... realize that it is obviously important to determine if it is possible to do so.

Thanks anyway for the answer!

Cutting holes in floor joists for larger pipes (e.g., for drainage or ventilation) should always be avoided. If it is still necessary, the placement and execution must be determined by someone with expertise in structural engineering.

I don't understand the number 1000. What type is it?
