Hi, I have parquet on the entire upper floor of a sixties house, but I've removed it due to damage in the entrance, and now I can see into the spaces between the joists (45x45mm) on the concrete slab (screed). We have very cold floors, and it's hard not to toy with the idea of being able to slide underfloor heating pipes from the side under the living room floor. Of course, you would need to remove a bit more parquet, but that can be done just at the edge and then put it back. (I can even imagine removing some parquet segments on either side of the living room.

Aside from the classic problems with underfloor heating under old subfloors and parquet, with wood warping and wood not conducting heat well, etc., it feels extremely tempting. Does anyone have any experience with this?

What you need to consider if you're going to move the hose back and forth is to reduce the risk of damage. Concrete can cut quite well, and above all, don't forget to plug the end properly so that debris doesn't get in. However, I think it's easier to lift the entire floor than to move back and forth; you should be able to turn around and not get stuck on the entire floor, I would think it causes trouble in some places.

Absolutely sensitive. I had thought of bending it and doubling it, but I agree it's too sensitive to do such a thing with plumbing, and you would need insulation boards underneath. I just thought this project is not going to happen at all. We're not taking up the parquet, because it's too large an area, and it's in very good condition.

Yes, insulation boards are definitely preferable.
