There's always the question of whether to integrate something that isn't designed to be built in... Since it's LED, heat shouldn't be an issue, so it should work. I had a couple of strips at home but was disappointed with the brightness and returned them, so make sure you think the light is sufficient when you put them up in the ceiling.
I found them more as "mood lighting" rather than task lighting...

They are designed to be built-in, but I'm unsure how well the fastening will work in plaster. The idea is just cozy lighting for a part of the room.
