Install bridge posts with a water hose?
I've heard that you can drive pipes into dock mounts in the lake bed using a water hose that you place inside the pipe. The water pressure is supposed to push away the bottom sediment and the pipe will then sink. Has anyone tried this and can offer some tips? Also, how do you release these pipes for the winter; is it done the same way when you remove them?
The intended spot has a mud/sand bottom.

You should preferably have something conical.
Started with 2" pipes and two could not be pulled up, in my case with float bridge, because they get stuck so d...
After that, I chop some slanor and use them, they are conical, usually last a few years.

I usually use a heavy pipe with end stops that slides over the pipe and is lifted and slammed down, think of a machine that drives stakes at construction sites, but it slides over the pipe. It doesn't damage the pipe and you hit every time, unlike with a sledgehammer. Pulling up stubborn pipes is easiest with a sturdy pipe wrench with which you twist the pipe back and forth while pulling upwards. It has never failed. However, it requires a platform with sufficient buoyancy.
