Ceiling with rectangular panels and a light fixture, possibly from 1974, with a curtain visible at the bottom of the image. Hi, does anyone know what this type of ceiling is called? And possibly what it is made of/contains? The house is from 1974 and the ceiling likely as well...

Tretex or gypsum ceiling tiles?

Masonite. We have similar in some ceilings, house built -62.

Yes, façade masonite is probably a good option.

The housing cooperative has approved these for replacing hygiene tiles in our bathrooms.
The buildings were constructed in the 60s.

They have the correct classification for fire.

The ceiling is in a bedroom, feels like it's time to replace....

Are they tiles? Are they loose or are they attached to the ceiling?

Now I saw that it was a curtain rod and a spotlight. I only focused on the ceiling.

Ceiling with hard material panels and a recessed light fixture, visible wiring hanging down, indicating renovation work. In part of the house, a "harder" material has been used. And it also does not smell like masonite...

There are both coated particle board and gypsum to choose from.

anyone know what is causing the smell in the fiberboard ceiling? kind of a "dry and dusty" smell...

Nope, but it doesn't sound good.
Old and dry?

Does anyone know how the roof tiles are mounted? Glued?! If so, very difficult to remove. And then it might also be the glue that smells...
