Hello
We are soon finishing our upstairs and have been checking around with different staircase manufacturers. The quotes have ranged from 80-110,000 SEK, but then I found Arké (sv.arke.ws), which manufactures kits. Went to check with a retailer today and have to say it seems quite okay. The downside is that the handrail is made of PVC designed to look like wood. But this is compensated by the price... to say the least... Under 20,000 SEK for a spiral staircase with a diameter of 160 cm.
Anyone have experience with this staircase?

Stairs are also much cheaper at regular hardware stores.
At the hardware stores, there are several manufacturers in the price range of 15-40kkr and upwards, including Arke.bryggtomten said:
I installed a 120cm Arke staircase last winter and am satisfied with it. The central pole, steps, and balustrade pins are quite OK. The handrail you mentioned is in PVC is quite OK anyway because it's easy to shape (after some consideration on how to do it).
What didn't turn out completely OK is the transition from the staircase's handrail to the balustrade rail. You needed to insert two 90° transitions, and just gluing them with the cyanoacrylate glue that comes with it is not sufficient.
Overall, I'm fully satisfied and think the rail is OK since I chose the dark cherry variant.
If you're hesitant about the PVC feel, assemble the staircase first. Then buy wooden handrails using the supplied handrail as a template.

Hello!
Does anyone know where in Stockholm you can look at Arké stairs, among others? I'm in need of a spiral staircase between floors 2 and 3 at home. I'm going up this weekend and would like to see a staircase "live" before I possibly order one!
Thanks!
