Now it's almost time to repaint the kitchen. First, we're going to repaint the ceiling, which was poorly painted by the previous owner (it's streaky), and we've sanded and patched some cracks that have appeared in the "old" paint, which is just a couple of years old... What is important to consider when choosing paint, in terms of the paint's properties (i.e., not shades)? We need a paint that adheres well to the old one and perhaps prevents new cracks from appearing. Anything specific to think about, or is it just a matter of buying regular ceiling paint?

Then we will paint the walls, which we will cover with renovation wallpaper beforehand. I've heard that this absorbs both glue and paint quite a bit. We've planned to invest in good brands for the paint but are considering buying cheaper primer, since a lot of it will probably be absorbed by the wallpaper. Is it important not to skimp and buy more expensive paint even when it comes to the base?

Any more practical tips when it comes to painting are welcome!

Thanks in advance for the responses!
