This is our battered entrance deck.
Worn concrete porch with peeling paint, surrounded by flower pots and a welcome mat in front of a white door.
It is, to say the least, not pretty.
Worn and chipped concrete porch step with peeling paint, shadowed partially by sunlight, showing signs of weather exposure and previous repair attempts.
A few years ago, in my naivety, I tried to paint the concrete. It was a dumb idea. Not only because keeping it clean is a lie, but because the snow shovel rather quickly obliterated my efforts.

So. What should I do instead?

A hand points to a worn, painted concrete porch, highlighting surface damage near a door with limited clearance.
Ideally, I would like to lay some new pleasant durable coating. But the front door has the bad taste of hanging just a few centimeters above the floor, so it's not possible to build up too much. Is there even room for something like tiles?

My impossible requirements are:
* It should be easy to keep clean.
* It should be easy to shovel snow from.
* It should not become too slippery in the winter.
* It should not build up too high.
* It should preferably be as light in color as possible.
* Ideally, it should also cover the vertical parts of the stairs.
* It should be as cheap as possible...

What can I use that meets these requirements?
