I have planed down 45x220 impregnated wood to 28mm. Can I trust that the impregnation is okay even if it's not green everywhere?

Can you submit the wood somewhere to get it re-impregnated?

It will be used in connection with a pool.

Living in Gothenburg, is there anyone who deals with this in this area? :)

Completely crazy.
They are well through printed as far as I understand.

What is wrong? 🤔

Well, it should be that... but, it's no longer green further into the wood. So I don't know how much you can trust it?

Impregnation is not magical. Go ahead! You're not planning to keep the wood soaked all year round.

Then you would need to impregnate every cut you make.

Only the outermost millimeters are impregnated. You can consider your timber as unimpregnated. But go ahead anyway.

Is that so? And you don't think it's possible to find someone who can impregnate it for you? Where do they usually impregnate the wood?

Well, in the NTR A and AB classification, the spline should be fully impregnated, and the heartwood holds up well on its own. Go ahead, you can always add an extra coat of surface treatment.

Curious why though, is it just a frame that's supposed to fit with the pool?

I have planed and glued together 2 pieces of 45x220, so it became 440mm wide instead. This was to be able to cut a curved top rail and I needed wider planks than 220. This then needs to be 28mm thick like the rest of the decking around the pool, so I have planed it down.

Two wooden boards with dowels and glue on edges, resting on a workbench in a workshop setting. A wooden plank with visible grain pattern on a workbench in a workshop setting.

Nicely planed! I see you have access to machines.

It is the heartwood that is not green in the picture. It is so naturally impregnated that no impregnating agent penetrates it.

Notching the beams underneath with 45-28=17mm was not an option?

What do you do with the shavings?

I assume you want it to match with the old 28mm decking, but wouldn't it have been easier to lower the framework on the new construction by 17mm and use 45x220 as the cover without planing them down?

No
