Hi. Looking for a quick answer on whether Illbruck Flexfoam FM330 is approved for sealing insulation (XPS) along walls, pipes, etc., where it will then be overlaid with coarse concrete. Does anyone have experience and know if it's okay?

Our craftsmen have used it and say it's approved. I'm asking because a friend had a really bad experience during a basement renovation where chemical reactions occurred between wet concrete and foam sealant, glue, etc., and toxic gases emerged. It ultimately led to them tearing down the house.

I have contacted Illbruck but have not received an answer yet.

Grateful for a response.

Your friend, what foam was used there. There can be a big difference between foam and foam that may react negatively against concrete. Do you know the foundation (Gases it was apparently) why your friend had to tear down the house, very strange in my opinion, but maybe.

no, don't know exactly, but it was among other things foam sealant and PL400. Then some other factors like it was cold in the room and the concrete didn't cure well, and work started above the slab with similar material too early.

Maybe not plattanflytning he dried out and an organic material was placed on. As a result, the whole thing against platta/flytning started to mold, maybe even black mold and then it's almost over, it grows into all materials.

yes, certainly a combination of different things, but they have analyzed the gases and found dangerous substances (i.e., other than mold). I at least got confirmation from Illbruck now that their foam above should be ok.

It would be interesting to know what [hittade] and what it was, you don't have the opportunity to find out, a protocol or a real source that says something, by asking your friend.

The foam is absolutely excellent for what they have used it for.

Will check next week!

I just saw on the material invoice that they also used Sika Boom 557, does anyone know if it's okay to use that under a concrete slab indoors?

They also showed an invoice from Sortera for the removal of the material that had been broken down, insanely expensive. Are there cheaper alternatives to Sortera in the Stockholm area? Until next time… :)

What did you pay and for which fraction?

Had to pay 13,000kr total for 8.5 tons in a container. Is "C zone 2" = fraction?

No, what kind of material did they throw in the container?
