If one would like to screw the roofing boards on the roof instead of nailing them, would it be crazy?

Is it foolish to maybe use a screw gun for the job? :-)

What screws would one use in that case? Self-countersinking wood screws of some sort? Would the same screws that you would use to fasten OSB indoors be suitable (though those screws might not withstand outdoor environments)?

I'm considering buying a screw gun, and it would be great if I could use it to screw the roofing boards as well. And screws do hold better than nails.

There are collated screws for outdoor sheet material. Drill tip and self-countersinking head. Probably costs about 1 SEK each for the consumer, I guess. That's a lot of screws...

Striped decking screw works, but nailing is faster

I used floor screws, it's still holding 2 years later. Despite the small head.
