How to get boards straight on a wavy wall?

#30; I wrote in zone 1 and that I would never use plaster in wet areas at all. I know it is stated in the table that plaster is allowed under certain conditions, but the fact remains regarding vapor transport through the waterproofing layer. Only the new membranes meet the requirements. As for Boverket, they refer to the manufacturer's instructions, and thus it's usually type-approved products that are used if the control plan is to be fulfilled with associated documents. But why take a chance and use plaster even if the waterproofing cladding is okay, the mixer can come loose, children step on the water pipes to reach the shampoo bottle, etc.

#26 vctrex; It's frightening how much misinformation people spew left and right, it's no surprise that people are afraid to do their own wet rooms. In my opinion, it’s not more difficult than choosing BKR or GVK and then following their instructions to the letter.
Furthermore, I am 100% convinced that a liquid-based waterproofing system applied in the correct amount does not allow moisture in vapor form to penetrate to the extent that mold would start growing on gypsum board. There’s no chance. This would have to be in an extreme case where the gypsum is trapped in a poorly insulated exterior wall between a vapor barrier and a liquid-based waterproof membrane.
Lucky that there are experts who can completely dismiss experts and tests by just having an opinion and ignoring the conducted measurements and reports. Which liquid-based waterproofing systems have you tested? One should also consider that in the past, people showered (bathed) 2-3 times a week, and today it's not uncommon for someone to shower 2 hours a day in a shower room.

No gypsum in wet rooms, i.e., regular gypsum. Additionally, do not screw gypsum so that the screw goes through the paper. The board will then be loose because it is the cardboard that holds the board. Mentioning this about gypsum because gypsum was mentioned above.

Well, excuse me, sometimes things go too fast. However, it remains that there are a lot of requirements with the waterproofing. Clarifying here and in #32.

The wall is probably straight now, but I return with a fool's persistence about drywall in wet rooms. It might be interesting for others. Read BBV; I am still talking about ceramic cladding.

Boards that are to be the base for ceramic waterproofing constructions on walls should be manufacturer-recommended and suitable as a base for waterproofing and tiling.
Boards in wet zone 1 should maintain stability after moisture exposure without losing their technical properties and be resistant to microbial growth.
Gypsum boards with a paper lining should not be used in wet zone 1 as a base for waterproofing and tiling or as a backing board.
Wood-based boards should not be used as a base for waterproofing and tiling.
Board walls should meet the tolerance requirements according to table 43.B/HSD-1 AMA Hus.
5.7 Board Constructions
Boards/board constructions in wet rooms should, according to the manufacturer, be documented as suitable/intended as a base for ceramic waterproofing systems in wet areas and be installed according to the board manufacturer's instructions.
Gypsum boards with a paper lining should not be used in wet zone 1 as a base for waterproofing or as a backing board. Applies to both floors and walls.
Mold Growth
The paper layer on gypsum boards is susceptible to the growth of toxic so-called paper mold (Stachybotrys chartarum) which can develop behind waterproofing. When intervening (renovating/ dismantling) wet room walls with paper-lined gypsum boards, protective equipment is required; protective clothing and particle filter 3. Normally, however, the mold poses no risk to residents as long as it is behind tiles and waterproofing.
Even very small amounts of moisture, such as leakage from faulty fittings and the like, can start the growth. Applies regardless of the type of waterproofing.
The industry guidelines' recommendation that paper-lined gypsum boards should not be used in the most exposed area of the wet room, wet zone 1, aims to contribute to healthier construction by following the precautionary principle according to the Environmental Code, Chapter 2, Section 3. It states the obligation to observe limitations and precautions so that measures do not harm health or the environment.

Well, read up. It's about paper-faced gypsum in wet rooms that many say is approved.
Yes, but we were still talking about GVK and I have mentioned in many threads that cardboard gypsum is not allowed according to BKR.seniorkonsult said:

BBM is well bKR and references to industry regulations apply as I understand it. Now, I have not read up on GVK at the moment, but it is about wet room control and the requirements should be equivalent, right?
You referred to GVK's regulations in your first post where you claimed that plasterboard was prohibited in wet rooms. Read yourself in the link you refer to; plasterboard is allowed outside zone 1 under certain conditions (which are usually met).
