Hi!

I have a small cabin out in the woods that has been untouched for about 30 years and I am now thinking of giving it some love. The cabin is clad with eternit panels that look a bit worn, and I'm considering whether I should remove them or paint them. It seems possible to paint with linseed oil paint, but I'm unsure what is best. Some panels have also come loose, so it might be a good idea to remove them to check if there are any damages underneath that need to be addressed.

What would you recommend?

  • Rustic cabin with worn asbestos cement panels, some missing, in a forested area. A metal sheet leans against the wall; tree obscures the view.
I would keep them. Paint with paint for plastered surfaces. Or, don't paint at all.
