Hey!
I have a concrete pillar, not sure if it contains anything else like rebar or similar, that I would like to remove or cut.

Does anyone have tips on how to do it?

It's about 30-40 cm in diameter and 2-2.5 m tall.

Best regards,
Mattias

  • Concrete pillar on a wooden deck by a lake, surrounded by trees, with a small table and chairs nearby.
  • Concrete pillar surrounded by grass and moss with a branch in the foreground, possibly for a construction or renovation project discussion.
  • Concrete pillar with rough surface, possibly reinforced, surrounded by wooden planks and vegetation; part of a construction or renovation project.
Possibly, it could be removed from the top down. Like in this video:

Exactly, that seems reasonable. 👍🏻

Driving is the only option. But I think the pole is in good condition and is a bit bold. Personally, I would have kept it and tried to do something with it. Climbing plant, lighting, or something similar.

I would have kept the nice pillar. Come up with a use for it. Climbing plant would be nice.

Do you know what function the fine pillar originally served?

It has been under a "veranda," which was an extension of the house. The veranda was demolished and the house was restored, but the concrete pillar remained.

Now I am possibly thinking of extending the deck a bit and then the pillar gets in the way of where I wanted to extend.

Really nice! Recessed LED strip? Climbing plant? Spotlight shining from below!?

So many possibilities. Everyone wants a pillar like that.

I had tried to call Roar; he surely could have helped to effectively remove this pillar 😀😃😄😁😆😅😂

He fixes everything, in this video clip he helps move a piano, so your little pillar he easily fixes with a hefty charge! 😁😁😁

1. I would have kept it!

2. I would have gone to town with the big angle grinder with a diamond blade and made a few cuts. Then given it a good whack with a hefty sledgehammer. Then it should be in pieces of a reasonable size to take to the dump.
