Planning to build decorative stone behind an open fireplace on the sides against the wall. There is regular wood paneling on the wall, and I wonder how to do that? The idea is to build up decorative stone from the concrete floor along the wall to the ceiling. Should there be any paper or other substrate that you put against the wall so you can apply plaster there?
