Hello!

In connection with drainage work, the concrete slab outside my garage doors was removed. I'm now planning to cast a new slab, but I'm a bit confused.

At the bottom of the "hole", along the lower edge of the house's foundation slab, the plastic drainage pipes are exposed. These are, specifically in this section under the garage entrance, regular orange plastic pipes. So, they are not drainage pipes but solid plastic pipes.

My question is whether one should fill everything with concrete, or if it's better to first cover a bit with loose leca or gravel before filling it up with concrete. What do the experts think?

Best regards,
Kaison

Gravel without being an expert. Do not cast the pipes
