Hello!
I am planning to open a doorway indoors in a non-load-bearing brick wall about 120mm thick. Does anyone have tips and experience on the best way to do this? With a sledgehammer, saw, or large angle grinder?

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Tobias

cover as much as you can because it will dust something like h-e.

otherwise, a stone blade on the angle grinder is probably the easiest, at least around, the rest is just to go berserk on:)

okay, it's best to cut around first then. angle grinder, larger model I suspect? it could also be a leca-wall, that black leca they used in the past, but that's easier to saw than brick, right?

Rent a water-cooled concrete cutter if you can handle a little water spill; it significantly reduces dust, also tape up a tight plastic sheet and seal all door gaps. But be prepared for a total cleanup afterward anyway.

A proper motor cut with water connected so it doesn't dust like hell, an angle grinder without water will dust down the whole street :)
And then go as fast as possible so it doesn't have time to dust and splatter so much!

okay, I will try with plastic. there's parquet on the floor, so water won't work. the wife has just washed the white curtains.
