I am completely renovating a house. The area is approximately 150 square meters. There is a 6 cm difference from the highest to the lowest point.

The house has a wooden frame construction, so the floor joist is wood. On top of the existing wooden floor, I will lay chipboard for underfloor heating.

I don't want to self-level the entire floor because it will be very expensive. What other options are there?

I am considering laying strips of masonite or something else under the chipboards. I have previously calculated on a leveling floor of the NIvell type, but it is as expensive as self-leveling the entire area.

Tear out the subfloor, level the joists with battens that you screw and glue to the side of the existing joist. Insulate, then just lay the grooved chipboard.
