We are going to buy a house from the 1920s-30s for a cheap price and wonder what a renovation might roughly cost?

The house is originally timber but was extended once in the 1930s and renovated in the 1960s. It has a crawl space foundation.
Ground floor:
Hall, kitchen, living room, 1 bedroom, bathroom, small stairs down to a small boiler room, stairs up
Upper floor:
3 bedrooms, bathroom, common area between the rooms, 1 walk-in closet quite large.

What needs to be done is:
The floor by the kitchen "gives way," so it needs to be replaced.
Open the wall between the hall and kitchen
Build an addition for a laundry room
Open the wall between the bedroom and walk-in closet
All new flooring (want oak flooring + tiles (kitchen, hall, bathroom) for example
New kitchen
New wallpaper/painting
New bathrooms on both floors

The plan is to hire a construction company and use the ROT deduction.
Electrical work will be done by ourselves (electrician in the family) and the kitchen can be installed ourselves. Possibly do the wallpaper/painting in some room upstairs to save some money. We are satisfied with an IKEA kitchen.

I don't know the exact measurements, but would guess about 80m2 on the ground floor and 60m2 upstairs. The kitchen is not large, about 2.5x3.5m.

Approximate renovation budget? Over a million? What do you think, those of you who are knowledgeable in construction?

15000-20000 kr/m2 maybe depending on material choice

If renovation is at that price, it's cheaper to build new...

Anyone else with experience who has a rough idea?

15000-20000 SEK/m2 sounds reasonable. Keep in mind that the age of the house makes it difficult to know what potential issues there might be (e.g., mold in the ceiling, floor, risk zones, waterproofing in bathrooms, etc.). Houses are often renovated in phases with the "right" materials of that era. These might work well individually but not together... sometimes it's cheaper (though less charming) to build new. Is it the location or the house you want?

I think it sounds like a lot, 15,000-20,000 SEK per sqm. It's probably easier to try to break it down. Roughly calculated, maybe you can see it like this:
100,000 per bathroom
100,000 for a new kitchen
100,000 if some panel needs to be replaced and painted
100,000 for other exterior work
100,000 for renovations
100,000 for new floors
100,000 for painting and wallpapering
100,000 for other interior work

This would amount to 900,000 if there are 2 bathrooms.

Of course, not everything costs 100,000; if you want, both bathrooms, floors, and kitchen can cost double. It all depends on how expensive the items you buy are and whether you are willing to do some things yourself. Some things can also be significantly cheaper.

Do everything yourself or outsource? But I would guess somewhere around 800-990k is likely... There is so much you don't think about that comes into play... And if the house is that old, it's probably time to replace all the electrical as well, maybe an additional 100k roughly... So around a million sounds reasonable maybe...
