We have an Animon house from 1991. The model is called Animon D85. The basic version of this house was 145 sqm. Our house is about 170 sqm. We have a settlement in the floor structure just above the stairs on the second floor. The difference is at most about 1.5 cm over one meter and has the shape of a "Wokpan"... A round area where it is 1.5 - 2 cm at its deepest.
It is only the floor structure on floor 2 that has given way.
How much settlement is acceptable for a house?
How much can the floor structure be allowed to yield?
Should I bring in a structural engineer for an "inspection" of the settlement?
(We plan to install a larger glass section on the upper floor and I am afraid this may lead to greater settling.)
