Visited a school today to measure airflows because the staff has complained about poor air quality in two of the rooms. What I found was that one room didn't have an exhaust diffuser. In the other room, I discovered through measurements that there is a significant difference between the supply diffuser in the room (the last diffuser on the duct) and the second to last, which was placed in the previous room. The measured flow in the last diffuser was half as much (l/s). Could it be because many supply diffusers have already been connected to the duct earlier? Could the solution be to create a new branch closer to the main duct?

Throwing out another question...

If one wants to increase the exhaust from a space, is the best solution to open an additional exhaust diffuser?

I'm not a ventilation expert, but no, the number of supply air devices on a duct is hardly a problem in itself. However, it's important that the system is correctly sized, adjusted, and functions as it should so that all units get the right flow.

Not to be rude, but what was the goal of these measurements you've done? To be able to draw any sensible conclusions, I would say you need to have a deeper understanding of both the theoretical function and the conditions on site. At least if you're doing it for anything beyond your own curiosity.

One experiences that the air is poor in the last space. That's why I measured the supply air speed in that room.

Do you work with ventilation? Is it a cooperative? Where is the exhaust vent you mentioned located? Probably the pressure needs to be adjusted.

I'm in the process of learning. I realized today that an adjustment is probably needed!
