Back to my basic technical questions...
I'm going to build a deck with a roof that slopes about 14 degrees, where one of the sloping sides connects to the wall. The deck will be 4x4 meters, and the roof will rest on three beams. But how do you really set the middle beam?
Is it as simple as installing the outer beams and placing a rule over them to determine the height, or do I need to consider something more to ensure it takes part of the load? The plan is to notch the roof joists slightly to get them to rest on the entire beam and not just on the edge.
