Hello...
A thought that came up now that I'm renovating a small toilet.
The toilet is small, and it will be a bit tricky to install plywood in full length from floor to ceiling... but it does work to install the plywood horizontally, right?
(The drywall will be vertical, though)
/Frippe

Is it a toilet or a bathroom?
Yes, that's fine but according to the "safe wet room wall" the joints should always fall over a stud (or equivalent) so if you want to follow it 100% you have to add a noggin, if you want to hang something heavy nearby like a sink it's probably wise to do it anyway even if you don't choose to follow exactly.

Yes, it is fine, but according to the "secure wet room wall," the seams should always be over a stud (or equivalent), so if you want to follow it 100%, you need to add nogging. Thanks for the response. It's not a bathroom, just a small guest toilet. I will add nogging. It's old walls with varying center-to-center measurements between the studs, so regardless of horizontal or vertical, I need to add studs. However, it's more convenient for me to have smaller boards than 2450 and place the plywood horizontally...

Then 15mm plywood is already "overkill" as it is, so do what feels good, and it will be fine. A toilet doesn't have wet room wallsF Frippego said:Hello
