Hello everyone!

Like many others, I also hate having visible cables. Sure, there are stylish cable channels, but if you want to completely hide the cables, you need to rout a groove in the wall and then fill and wallpaper over it. So far, no problem.

But if you have cables with large connectors like SCART cables, VGA cables, etc., you need to find some massive channel (maybe 10cmx3cm?) that the connectors can fit through so you don't have to cut the connector and then solder it back when the cable is in the wall.

I suspect it might become a massive filling job, so are there large cable channels made for routing in? Maybe some type of flange so that it becomes easier to fill?

I can add that I have "massive" wooden walls to rout in, so the hand router will have to prove its worth.

I recommend minimizing the number of cables going to the TV by switching in the amplifier instead. This way, you can manage with, for example, an HDMI cable, which makes everything a bit simpler. For my Pioneer Plasma, there's a separate media receiver that everything else connects to, so there's only one system cable (10m) going to the TV. All the equipment I've placed in a cabinet instead so you don't have to see it. An HDMI cable/connector probably fits without problem into a 25mm conduit.

Hey krillek!

I must say it's insanely stylish, almost gives the feeling that the gear isn't connected because one is so used to seeing cable channels :)

Unfortunately, I don't have HDMI on the boxer, so I guess I'll have to abandon SCART in favor of component instead, which takes up somewhat less space.

I suppose I'll have to cut the power cable and splice it with a terminal block when the cable is in the pipe :)

I'll go all out with the router to make room for the channel, and after a kilogram of filler later, one should have a flat surface to wallpaper on...

thanks for the tip!

Best regards,
Wretan

Connected, I promise :-)

Maybe should have taken the photo with the TV on...

I channeled a drain pipe into the wall :D Got everything through that pipe :D
