To those of you who like challenges and are not afraid of quick solutions:
I have a very small budget for this purpose and need a simple solution.

I want to cover one of my doorways in the kitchen but don't know what to come up with.
(On the other side is a wardrobe).

This is what I've been thinking:
Attach some sheet material, paint, and add ceiling and floor moldings. Is there any cheap and thin sheet material that can be used?

I was considering possibly staining the sheet material if it doesn't become too expensive.

How would you decorate/furnish the new corner that is about 90cm wide and 55cm deep?
The kitchen is white, oak flooring, white 60s cabinet doors, virrvarr countertop with walnut strip. Haven't bought new furniture yet.

Above all, I would like a built-in tall cabinet, but it's too expensive. 😔

Could you attach a frame to the ceiling and one to the floor and attach sheet material to make it a pantry?

It really needs to be simple.
I looked at DIY for dummies and almost started crying.

Gypsum costs 100-130kr per sheet and can be easily cut with a sharp knife, and can be easily painted, wallpapered, or tiled if desired.

How big is a sheet?

It would be really kind if you could send a link?
I've looked at gypsum, but there were so many different variants. I'm looking for 1000 different things and it would really help me. 💕

Do you attach gypsum with screws and is the material light?

I looked at plaster, but there were so many different variations. Searching for 1000 different things and it would really help me. 💕

Plaster is quite heavy, but cheap to buy, easy to cut, can be screwed, glued, or maybe even nailed in place.

Great! Thank you so much.
I will with 99% certainty use it.
Seems easy and cheap. And a thousand thanks for considering a material that is easy to work with!💕

If I wanted to solve it another way than a "wall" over the opening, I need a very light sheet material. Do you have any recommendations that are cheap and easy to cut?

Shower rod that is tension mounted without screws and then any curtain, up quickly and down quickly without leaving a mark??

What do you want to use the space for instead?

Put up a shelf?

Empty?

I have a small apartment and will probably divide a room with curtains, so it's a bit too much fabric.

It doesn't matter if there are marks.
Patching is one of the few things I'm good at.
Thanks, OCD!😄

Tom?
Dear Tom,
That's also something I needed advice on.
I'm completely hopeless when it comes to interior decoration.

I would have preferred a built-in cabinet that matches with the rest of the cabinets, but that will have to wait. There are other things that must be prioritized, but I have to cover the doorway because I've placed a wardrobe on the other side.

Thank you, Birgit!
These are really great tips.
Renovating/decorating the entire apartment and have a very small budget for this particular purpose, but all inspiration helps!💕

You don't have to buy a display cabinet immediately; you can wait, because if you know what the goal is, you can put up with a bit of oddities of various kinds in the meantime.

You are absolutely right. 😊
I thought of trying to find a provisional solution that is cheap and looks okay until everything else is bought and ready.

In the end (in a year or so) it will be a small storage/pantry or a built-in cabinet, but I'll need to hire someone for that. Unless I get lucky on Tinder😂 (just kidding).
